Child Protection & Safeguarding
Every Child Known, Valued and Safe
At Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School, the safety, wellbeing and happiness of every child are at the heart of all that we do.
We are committed to providing a caring, nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel safe, respected and valued. We believe that children thrive when school and home work together, and we seek to build strong partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community to support every child’s learning, wellbeing and development.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Our staff, governors and volunteers are committed to promoting the welfare of all children and to creating a culture where pupils feel listened to, supported and protected.
Our school’s values of Respect, Kindness, Responsibility, Perseverance and Community guide our daily interactions and help us create an environment where every child can learn, belong and grow.

What Should I Do If I Have A Concern?
The welfare of children is our highest priority.
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please speak to one of the members of our safeguarding team as soon as possible.
All concerns are taken seriously and are managed in line with the Department of Education’s safeguarding procedures and guidance.
Parents and carers should be aware that the school has a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This may mean that concerns are shared with other agencies, including Children’s Social Care and the PSNI, where appropriate.
