Welcome to Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School, where it is our aim to develop ‘Learning for Life’.
Across our school community we have created a happy and stimulating environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their best. We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both parents and pupils.
No website can really give you a complete feel for our ethos and atmosphere. Therefore, if you feel you would like to visit the school and see us in action please do not hesitate to contact the school office to arrange a tour.
Thank you for taking the time to look at Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School’s website.
The school year is finishing up but at Mad Dogs the fun hasn’t stopped!
The children have enjoyed the fruits of the labour with strawberries from the polytunnel which were every bit as tasty as they looked. 🍓
We had huge rehoming week where all the children had the opportunity to adopt a reading buddy. These new pets came in all sizes and designs but had one thing in common, should anyone share a story with their new buddy over the summer then a treat from the prize box awaits in September! Remember Mr Coulter’s wise words “read books get smart”.📚
The sun has come out and everyone has made the most of it! We’ve had lots games, charades (which even Mr Coulter took part in) bingo and many a giggle. 🤣
Our last full week has been enjoying the field with all things magical from magic wands and experiments to fairy popcorn, ice cream and lots of lollies to keep us cool! 🍦
It’s been a great month to end a truly fantastic year! 🐶 … See MoreSee Less
The Great P5 Forest Banquet was underway today combining Forest School and UICT skills. We even had some smores to celebrate all our outdoor learning this year🌳 … See MoreSee Less
After saying goodbye to Play for All last summer, we knew we had to find our own way — and what an incredible job this team has done. From day one, they have created a fun, welcoming and caring environment where our children feel safe, happy and excited to be.
Every afternoon has been filled with thoughtfully planned activities — from creative crafts and baking treats to getting hands-on in the garden. The energy, dedication and care shown by this team has made Mad Dogs a place our children genuinely love.
A huge thank you to all of our parents for your continued support and for making use of the service — it truly means so much. And of course, thank you to our amazing children, who bring the fun, laughter and life to everything we do!
Wishing everyone a brilliant summer break ☀️ — The Mad Dogs Team 🐾 … See MoreSee Less
On Friday, we celebrated our P7 leavers with a wonderful celebration and play. What an incredibly talented group of children they are! 🌟 Each child received a trophy recognising their individual talents, achievements, and the unique qualities they have brought to our school community. We are incredibly proud of every one of them and wish them every happiness and success as they move on to their post-primary schools. We know they will continue to shine! 💫 … See MoreSee Less
Our Recorder Group enjoyed a well-deserved pizza party this week as we celebrated a fantastic year together!
Throughout the year, the boys and girls have worked hard to develop their skills and confidence, culminating in some wonderful performances at local nursing homes and the Sunshine afternoon tea party. It was a real privilege to see them bring such joy to others through their music—something they should be very proud of.
The group also gave a big thank you to Mrs McKillop for her infectious commitment and enthusiasm. What a lovely way to finish the year!
