We are delighted to reveal our new school logo. The children in school were very much involved in the design process. The ideas of the pupils were brought forward by the school council and sent to the designer to use as inspiration. The children in P4 to P7 were asked to think of three words each that they felt made Ballycarrickmaddy special. The words that came up repeatedly were Learning, Eco, Friendship, Caring, Countryside to name a few! These words and ideas are certainly represented in the new logo design.
This is quite a big change to our image and we are very excited to see the new logo phase in over the coming months and years. You will start to see changes to our newsletter and some signage around the school.
We hope that the logo will be changed on the school uniform from September of this year. I must stress to parents that there is no need to replace uniforms in September. Please ONLY buy school uniforms with the new logo as the old ones wear out. It may take some time before the old uniform logo phases out. New uniform items should be available from McCalls and Reach in the months ahead. The uniform items will not be changing, only the logo.
I would like to thank one of our parents, Mr Lynas, for his work in creating this logo that reflects our ethos and really represents what we are all about as a school.
